Scurria the Soft Footed Clown is a little moth fairy clown, her design inspired by the elephant hawk moth which lives in central Europe and has very sensitive eyes that allow them to see color even during the night. Like the elephant hawk moth, her favorite food is the honeysuckle, and she loves to dance, making the bells on her shoes jingle where ever she goes.
Scurria the Softfoot’s Cluit is made from mixed fabrics, foam board, rope, wire, paper core, ribbons, wood and plastic beads, and paper mache, and is a wearable costume piece. This costume is comprised of a green minky hood with pink ruffles and gold trim, a set of rope coiled antennae, a paper mache mask painted with acrylic paint and eyeshadow, a neck ruff made of white glitter tulle and hot pink tulle, a hot pink furry top with a plunging V-neckline and green lacing, sheer polyester pink sleeves, a sheer polyester green waist tie with a strip of pink lace tied as a belt, a green and pink tulle overskirt with black beading along the top, a green cotton skirt with black beading and brown ric rac along the ruffled hem, a pink lace underskirt, and a pair of shoes with a fabric blocking design, black beading, brown ric rac, pink pom poms, pink ribbon lacing, wooden shoelace beads, and jingle bells on the curved toes.
